With fascial cupping, you receive a targeted therapy designed to ease muscle tension, enhance circulation, and support your body’s natural healing process. As gentle suction is created on your skin, the cups lift and decompress tight fascial and muscular tissues, helping you improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and recover more efficiently. This approach can be especially helpful if you’re dealing with sore muscles, restricted movement, or tension related to stress.

During your session, suction or silicone cups are typically applied along your back (from your shoulders to your low back) and may be combined with light massage to further encourage tissue release and healthy blood flow. You may also notice increased body awareness as areas of restriction begin to soften. Fascial cupping can complement your overall care plan, supporting continued progress and improved movement.

If you’re experiencing muscular soreness, limited range of motion, or chronic tightness, this noninvasive therapy may be a restorative option for you.

Myofascial Cupping

    • Temporary red or purple markings on the skin are common after cupping. They are not painful and typically fade within about a week.

    • Staying well hydrated before and after your session can reduce the intensity and duration of these markings.

    • Initial treatment frequency often recommended: once weekly for 3–4 weeks, then reduce to 1–2 times per month for maintenance. More frequent sessions at the start can help produce longer-lasting results.

    • NO ice on cupped areas until marks are gone.

    • Movement and gentle heat can help greatly with recovery.

    • Marks will be sensitive to the sun—make sure they stay covered.

    • If itchy, a gentle, fragrance-free lotion helps.

    • Rest and hydrate: Drink water and allow yourself light rest after treatment. Hydration supports circulation and healing.

    • Avoid intense exercise for the first 12–24 hours if you feel sore; gentle movement (walking, stretching, yoga) encourages lymphatic flow without overtaxing tissues.

    • Wear loose, breathable clothing over treated areas to prevent irritation.

    • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, or prolonged hot showers for 24 hours if you have significant redness or tenderness.

    • If you use topical products, choose soothing formulations (aloe vera, calendula, or simple emollients) and avoid retinoids or exfoliants on cupped areas for several days.

    • Monitor marks: most discoloration resolves within a few days to two weeks depending on intensity; if marks worsen, persist beyond two weeks, or you experience increasing pain, numbness, blistering, fever, or signs of infection, contact your practitioner or a healthcare provider.

  • If you have specific medical concern (such as active skin conditions, clotting disorders, or recent surgery) you’ll want to consult with your practitioner beforehand to ensure this treatment is appropriate for you.
