Therapeutic Massage
2 credits for 60 min. or 3 credits for 90 min
Through a thoughtful blend of Swedish massage, deep tissue techniques, and myofascial release, you receive care tailored to be both restorative and corrective.
With Swedish massage, flowing strokes and moderate pressure enhance circulation, encourage lymphatic movement, and ease superficial tension. As the rhythmic movements calm your nervous system, you may notice your breathing slow and your body gradually shift into a deeper state of relaxation.
When deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue require attention, focused deep tissue techniques address persistent tension and restrictions. Slow, targeted pressure works into muscular adhesions to improve mobility and relieve long standing tension. The intensity of the massage is always adjusted to your comfort, allowing relief without feeling overwhelmed, helping you regain smoother, more comfortable movement.
Myofascial work complements this by addressing the connective tissue that influences overall mobility and skeletal alignment. Gentle, sustained holds give restricted areas time to soften, particularly in places that feel stuck or resistant to stretching. As these layers unwind, you may notice greater fluidity in your movement, improved balance, and a more coordinated feeling throughout your body.

Communication about pressure and preferences: Let your therapist know your comfort level with pressure, temperature, music, and talking. Clear communication ensures the session is tailored to you.
Arrival & Setting
Arrival time: Arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in, use the restroom, and settle in.
Environment: Treatment rooms are calm, warm, and clean. Soft lighting, soothing music, and fresh linens help create a relaxing atmosphere.
Dress and draping: You undress to your comfort level. You’ll be properly draped with sheets; only the area being worked on is uncovered.
During the Massage
Positioning: Most sessions begin with you lying face down, then face up. Pillows and bolsters support your body for alignment and comfort.
Techniques and pace: Your therapist will use techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release) suited to your goals. Expect a steady, deliberate pace; deep work may feel intense but shouldn’t be unbearably painful.
Feedback encouraged: Tell your therapist if pressure is too light or too strong, or if you feel sharp pain. Therapists can adjust technique or switch approaches as needed.
Breathing and relaxation: Slow, steady breathing helps you relax and makes tissue work more effective. You’re welcome to nap or meditate during the session.
-
Immediate sensations: It’s normal to feel relaxed, a bit lightheaded, energized, or mildly sore (especially after deep work). Soreness typically dissipates within 24–48 hours.
Hydration and rest: Drink water after your massage to help flush metabolic byproducts. Avoid intense exercise for the remainder of the day if you had deep work.
